Gaegumbulsa Eye Drops Embody the Spirit of Buddha's Sharing
Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu) announced on the 20th that Seonamsa Temple of the Korean Buddhist Taego Order (Chief Monk Sigaak) donated 1,000 bags of white rice (10kg each) worth 30 million KRW to Suncheon City.
The sponsored items were prepared by the temple’s devotees to commemorate the eye-opening ceremony of the renovation project held at Seonamsa Temple on the 22nd.
The donated white rice will be distributed to a total of 45 locations, including vulnerable groups in the townships, neighborhoods, and districts within the jurisdiction, as well as elderly living alone, disabled persons, and child welfare facilities facing difficulties.
A Suncheon City official said, “We thank Seonamsa Temple for deciding to donate with the warm hearts of its devotees, and we will do our best to help neighbors in need around us while reflecting on the Buddha’s teachings of compassion and sharing.”
Meanwhile, Seonamsa Temple donates sponsored goods every year during holidays to support vulnerable groups in the area, leading efforts to foster a warm community culture and practice the spirit of neighborly love and sharing.
