Gyeonggi-do Awards Appointment Letters to 39 New Public Officials in Ceremony with Families Invited

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon is taking a commemorative photo after handing appointment letters to 39 newly appointed public officials at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Office on the 21st.

On the 21st, Gyeonggi Province held a 'New Public Officials Appointment Celebration' event attended by family, friends, and senior public officials.

Gyeonggi Province announced that Governor Kim Dong-yeon presented appointment certificates to 39 new public officials at the multipurpose conference room on the 4th floor of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government building and held the '031 The FIRST DAY' event to celebrate their entry into public service.

The 39 new public officials consisted of 2 Grade 7 officials who passed the 2021 second open competitive exam and 37 Grade 9 officials who passed the 2022 second open competitive exam.

The event name '031' was derived from the Gyeonggi area code '031' and means 'the first day (first day) to start the life (3) of a public official (0)'.

The event proceeded in the order of an orientation on building guidance, viewing videos filmed by the new employees themselves, the appointment certificate awarding ceremony, reading letters of gratitude to family members, and a communication session with the governor.

Governor Kim Dong-yeon personally hung public official ID cards around the necks of the 39 new public officials present and offered words of encouragement and congratulations.

Governor Kim said, "Seeing the newly appointed officials today makes me glad and reassured. I sincerely welcome you as part of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government family," adding, "I heard this is the first time the governor personally hands out appointment certificates and invites family members. I wanted to express my gratitude to the families who have loved, raised, and cared for you and share this joyful occasion together, so I arranged this event."

He continued, "I hope you become public officials who find your own answers to why you started public service and what kind of public official you want to be throughout your career. From that, creativity and challenge will emerge, and courage to not fear trial and error will arise," adding, "Be spirited, clearly express your opinions, and while respecting established frameworks and rules, I hope you become someone who attempts to break them."

Meanwhile, the province provided the new public officials with a '031 package' consisting of office supplies necessary for their work to help them adapt early and take pride in their duties.
