Korea Rail Network Authority Announces Contest for Registration of Excellent New Technologies by SMEs

The Korea Rail Network Authority announced on the 21st that it will hold a contest for ‘Railway New Technology Registration’ on the Authority’s website from the 24th of this month to the 4th of next month.

The contest is conducted to discover excellent new technologies from small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that can be practically used in the railway industry field.

The submitted technologies will undergo evaluation based on field applicability, safety, and other criteria before being officially registered as new technologies. Registered new technologies will be posted on the Rail Network Authority’s ‘KR Technology Market,’ enabling promotion and market expansion support for SME technologies.

Previously, the Rail Network Authority unified the separately operated ‘Railway Technology Toktok’ and ‘Railway New Technology’ programs into a single ‘Railway New Technology’ system to enhance convenience for SMEs participating in the process.

Yang Geun-yul, Director of the Rail Network Authority’s Future Strategy Institute, stated, “Through this contest, we will strive to discover excellent technologies from SMEs and support their initial market entry. We ask for active participation and support from SMEs possessing technologies that can improve the quality of railway services.”
