The 'Traditional Hanok Branding Support Project' is a program that discovers excellent Hanok experience businesses and provides integrated support from product development to promotion and sales. This project has been ongoing for four years, and so far, 155 businesses have received support.
This year, the project will support 30 Hanok experience businesses. Any business registered as a Hanok experience business under the Tourism Promotion Act and with a business registration can apply.
Selected businesses can receive up to 20 million KRW in funding for operating traditional experience products. Customized consulting by experts in fields related to experience product and accommodation product operations will be provided. Support will also be given for creating promotional content and sales channels to boost revenue growth.
Park Min-jung, head of the Shopping and Accommodation Team at the Korea Tourism Organization, stated, "Interest in traditional Hanok as unique accommodations among the MZ generation is increasing day by day." She added, "We will strive to enhance tourist satisfaction by linking traditional Hanok with distinctive local experience programs and to help businesses increase their recognition and sales."
