Customized Job Creation and Support for Career-Interrupted Women and Shinjoongnyeon
Yeongdeok-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held the opening ceremony of the "East Sea Social Service Network Establishment and Job Support Project" on the 19th at the Caregiver Training Center of Uiduk University as part of this year's city and county specialized customized job support project.
Since 2015, Yeongdeok-gun has been selected annually for this project, which is sponsored by Gyeongbuk Province, to provide jobs tailored to the region. The project is conducted through an agreement with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Uiduk University. Up to last year, 193 caregivers have been trained, and 136 have been employed through job fairs and on-site job matching services.
This year, through a consortium with Pohang City, 20 residents from Yeongdeok-gun and 20 citizens from Pohang City will attend the courses together. Starting with the caregiver training course in April, sequential courses such as welfare administration experts, elderly health exercise instructors, and elderly art therapy counselors will be conducted, aiming for all participants to pass the national caregiver qualification exam in June.
Yoon Sa-won, Director of the Job Economy Division, stated, "This city and county specialized customized job support project plays a role in providing jobs to women with career interruptions and middle-aged individuals in the region." He added, "We will continue to discover additional projects and courses reflecting the diversifying trends of the times and various job demands."
