The Korea Forest Service announced on the 20th that it will hold the "Walking-Friendly Premium Forest Trail Contest (2nd round)" for the public from the 24th of this month to the 19th of next month.
The contest is being held to select 50 premium forest trails in celebration of the 50th anniversary of national land greening this year. The first round was held last month, selecting 30 premium forest trails. The second round will be conducted to select an additional 20 premium forest trails.
The Korea Forest Service plans to designate premium forest trails by reflecting conditions such as high forest ecological, historical, and cultural value among trails that the public can easily and comfortably use through the contest. However, the second round will exclude trails submitted during the first round (refer to the Korea Forest Service website).
Anyone from the public can participate in the contest. To apply, visit the "Walking-Friendly Premium Forest Trail Contest (2nd round)" section on the Korea Forest Service website, download the application form and personal information consent form, fill them out, and submit them via email.
After the application deadline, the Korea Forest Service will select the final premium forest trails through evaluation. Proposers of the selected trails will receive Onnuri gift certificates: 1st place 1,000,000 KRW (1 person), 2nd place 500,000 KRW each (2 people), and 3rd place 300,000 KRW each (2 people).
The results will be announced on the Korea Forest Service website in early July. Selected participants will be individually notified by phone.
