Expansion of Real Estate Assets by KT Estate
Allicon, the operator of the residence-based distributed office 'Jibmusil' (co-CEOs Kim Seong-min and Jo Min-hee), announced on the 20th that it has opened the 10th branch of Jibmusil at Remarkville Yeongdeungpo, a corporate rental housing operated by KT Estate.
Allicon attracted strategic investment from KT Estate in 2021 to jointly promote the distributed office business, and in May of the same year, launched the Jibmusil Ilsan branch by repurposing the KT Goyang Tower telephone exchange located in Ilsan, Gyeonggi-do, into a workspace. The new Jibmusil Yeongdeungpo branch marks the second collaboration with KT Estate.
The Jibmusil Yeongdeungpo branch is located on the 2nd floor of the commercial area of Remarkville Yeongdeungpo rental housing, bringing it closer to residential spaces. Remarkville is a residential facility converted from a former telephone exchange into rental housing, offering small living spaces of around 10 pyeong (approximately 33 square meters) targeted at young single-person households. Remarkville Yeongdeungpo, consisting of 760 units, is near the Yeouido business district, resulting in high demand from young office workers. KT Estate introduced Jibmusil to meet residents' demand for separated workspaces within small living spaces, enabling a home office environment that combines living and working spaces in rental housing.
The Jibmusil Yeongdeungpo branch covers approximately 60 pyeong (about 198 square meters) and consists of a one-person optimized work module for focused work, meeting rooms accommodating up to eight people, and open workspaces. Jibmusil members can access all branches with a full pass. Residents living in Remarkville Yeongdeungpo are eligible for special discounted rates. Kim Seong-min, co-CEO of Allicon, stated, "The Jibmusil Yeongdeungpo branch will serve as a new example of workspaces suitable for narrow residential environments where establishing a remote work environment is difficult." He added, "We will continue to introduce diverse workspaces reflecting changes in work styles by utilizing various types of real estate assets owned by KT Estate."
