Discussion on the Direction for Suncheon Economy in the Era of the South Coast

Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Noh Kwan-gyu) announced that citizens, experts, and public officials will gather to discuss the "Direction of Suncheon Economy in the South Sea Era."

The upcoming Suncheon Economic Forum, to be held on the 20th at Jeonnam Contents Korea Lab (60 Jangpyeong-ro), is expected to be a forum encompassing Suncheon's economic vision and the achievements of existing policies.

Recently, Suncheon has been experiencing a series of economic boons, including signing a 200 billion KRW business agreement with POSCO Wide Co., Ltd. for the creation of a premium leisure town, and confirming the establishment of a 50 billion KRW space launch vehicle stage assembly plant by Hanwha Aerospace Co., Ltd.

With this wave of large-scale investment attraction and the successful opening of the 2023 Suncheon Bay International Garden Expo signaling a positive outlook for the local economy, the city plans to gather opinions from citizens and experts through this forum to develop practical economic policies.

The forum will proceed in the following order: ▲ Discussion on the direction of Suncheon City's urban industry ▲ Regional economy driven by ecology ▲ Achievements and future plans of Suncheon City's economic policies ▲ Economic and industrial direction of Suncheon in the 8th term of the elected government.

A Suncheon city official stated, "Now that the whole country is paying attention to Suncheon through the expo, we will use the expo as a catalyst to carefully manage local affairs with policies that citizens can feel directly."
