HandySoft is showing strong performance. It is interpreted that this is influenced by the news that Samsung Electronics is considering changing the default smartphone search engine from Google to Microsoft (MS) Bing.
As of 9:27 AM on the 19th, HandySoft is trading at 3,875 KRW, up 5.16% compared to the previous day.
According to foreign media, Samsung Electronics is reportedly reviewing a plan to replace the default smartphone search engine from the existing Google to MS's Bing. Recently, MS has been challenging Google with Bing, which is equipped with GPT-4, the language model of the startup OpenAI.
In an interview with KBS the previous day, Brad Smith, MS Vice Chairman, said regarding the possibility of MS's Bing being adopted by Samsung, "It is clearly a decision for Samsung," and added, "If Samsung or other companies can be persuaded to provide better (search) services, we will gladly do so."
Meanwhile, HandySoft's subsidiary Maven Cloud Service has signed a cloud license supply and consulting contract with MS. Industry insiders say that HandySoft is supplying groupware software that supports the scalability of MS's big data and AI utilization.
