Gyeonggi Province will conduct the '2023 Counterterrorism and Unpredictable Social Disaster Joint Drill' at 1:30 PM on the 26th at Nokyang Middle School in Uijeongbu.
This drill is co-hosted by Gyeonggi Province and the Northern Gyeonggi Police Agency, with participation from 21 organizations and over 650 personnel, including the National Intelligence Service, 5th Army Corps Headquarters, Northern Gyeonggi Police Agency Special Forces, Uijeongbu Police Station, Northern Gyeonggi Fire and Disaster Headquarters Special Response Team, Uijeongbu Fire Station, Uijeongbu Office of Education, Uijeongbu City, Uijeongbu Public Health Center, Nokyang Middle School, and Uijeongbu St. Mary's Hospital.
The drill will simulate three scenarios: armed hostage situations, drone attacks, and mass casualty responses, focusing on rapid response through organic cooperation and support systems among related agencies.
An official from the province stated, "To create a 'Gyeonggi Province strong against terrorism and safe from disasters,' we will continue to conduct joint drills with related agencies for future unpredictable social disasters." They added, "We plan to identify issues revealed during this joint drill, improve the overall disaster preparedness and response system including terrorism, and maintain close cooperation among related agencies."
