Joint Promotion of Activities to Prevent Telephone Financial Fraud
The Samho Police Substation of Yeongam Police Station in Jeonnam recently signed a business agreement with Samho Post Office to prevent telephone financial fraud.
According to Yeongam Police on the 18th, through the business agreement with the post office, a joint response system was established to prevent telephone financial fraud (voice phishing) within Samho-eup, Yeongam, and prevention activities will be jointly promoted.

In particular, the agreement was made to ensure the safety of local residents and financial customers by reconfirming the purpose of use for customers withdrawing or borrowing large amounts of 5 million won or more at financial institutions, and establishing a system to immediately report to 112 in suspicious cases.
Jo Oh-hyun, chief of the Samho Police Substation, stated, “Through this agreement, we will strengthen joint promotion such as posting promotional materials inside and outside financial institutions to prevent voice phishing, and block telephone financial fraud crimes through comprehensive efforts including sharing educational materials responding to new methods via regular meetings and discussions.”
