Startup, Test Environment Provision Project for Prospective Entrepreneurs
On the 9th, officials were busy moving in the corridor of the Financial Services Commission at the Government Seoul Office in Jongno-gu, Seoul, where financial authorities decided to include mortgage loans (Judaemae) in the 'debt refinancing' infrastructure set to operate in May by the end of the year. Financial authorities explained that the purpose is to reduce the interest burden on mortgage loans by building a debt refinancing platform that allows users to compare financial sector loan interest rates at a glance and switch loans easily. From the 17th of this month until the 4th of next month, the Financial Services Commission will recruit participants for the first half of 2023 D-Testbed project. Improving the previous method of operating once a year, from this year, the project will start early and expand the number of operations to twice a year (April and August). A permanent offline analysis environment will also be provided.
The D-Testbed project provides a testing environment based on financial data for startups and prospective entrepreneurs to verify the effectiveness and innovativeness of their innovative fintech technologies and ideas. Companies and individuals who have creative ideas but lacked opportunities to test them can use the provided combined financial and non-financial data and testing environment to experiment with their ideas.
For the first half of this year, the project plans to recruit more than 20 participants across three categories (free proposal type, business-linked type, and challenge task type). Participants in the first half will implement and verify their ideas using the data provided over a total of 14 weeks from May to August and submit a results report. Outstanding cases will be selected and awarded for each project recruitment in the first and second halves of the year, and continuous support for the commercialization of ideas will be provided through various support projects of the Fintech Support Center and the financial regulatory sandbox thereafter.
