26 Universities Nationwide, 60 Teams Participate... Fierce Competition Unfolds
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 11th that the 65th Spring National University Kendo Federation Championship was successfully held at the Muan Sports Park Indoor Gymnasium from the 7th to the 10th.

Hosted by the Korea University Kendo Federation and organized by the Muan-gun Kendo Association, this tournament featured fierce competition with over 1,000 athletes from 60 teams (40 men's teams, 20 women's teams) representing 26 universities nationwide.
The young male and female kendo practitioners from universities across the country showcased their honed skills, resulting in Mokpo National University winning the men's team championship and U1 University taking the women's team championship. Individually, Kwon Oh-gyu (Daegu University), Lee Min-je (Yongin University), Yoo Min-woo (Kyungwoon University), Cho Yoo-bin (Yongin University), and Jin Yu-ri (Yongin University) claimed the top positions in the men's and women's first and second divisions, respectively.
Kim San, the county governor, stated, "With over 1,000 participants including athletes and parents visiting our region during the tournament, local businesses such as restaurants and lodging facilities experienced a boost in activity. We will continue to actively attract nationwide sports events that contribute to revitalizing the local economy."
