"The Youngest of the Eastern Territory, Protect the Forests!"... Ulleung-gun Spring Wildfire Prevention and Suppression Training

From the 5th to the 7th of this month, Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk, and the Korea Forest Fire Prevention Technology Association conducted the '2023 Spring Forest Fire Prevention Education and Training' for 50 workers employed in four fields, including the forest fire prevention and suppression team in the forest job sector.

This training, led by instructors from the Korea Forest Fire Prevention Technology Association, covered forest fire suppression tactics and methods, as well as forest fire monitoring techniques.

Ulleung County and the Korea Wildfire Prevention Technology Association are conducting the '2023 Spring Wildfire Prevention Education and Training.'

A simulated training exercise assuming situations that could occur on site was conducted, providing an opportunity to enhance the response capabilities of forest job workers.

Ulleung-gun has established and is operating a Forest Fire Prevention Countermeasures Headquarters for forest fire prevention and suppression, and is building response measures through the 'Forest Fire Situation Control System.'

Governor Nam said, "Due to Ulleungdo's geographical conditions, it is difficult to receive assistance from mainland suppression personnel when a forest fire occurs, so initial response is crucial," and added, "I ask forest job workers to faithfully fulfill their roles on the front lines."
