Choi Hak-beom, Vice Chairman of Gyeongnam Provincial Council, Joins Single-Use Plastics Zero Challenge

Choi Hak-beom, Vice Chairman of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council, participated in the Ministry of Environment's 'Single-Use Products Zero Challenge,' pledging to reduce the use of single-use products in daily life.


Launched on February 27 by Han Hwa-jin, Minister of Environment, the 'Single-Use Products Zero Challenge' encourages public interest and participation by posting commitments to reduce single-use products on social media platforms (SNS) of various institutions and nominating the next participants. The Gyeongnam Provincial Council joined the challenge after being nominated by Hamyang-gun.

Accordingly, on the 7th, the Gyeongnam Provincial Council posted on SNS a pledge to reduce the use of single-use products in offices and various meetings and to increase the use of reusable products. They nominated Yang Hae-young, Chairman of Jinju City Council, and Gu In-mo, Mayor of Geochang-gun, as the next participants in the campaign.


Vice Chairman Choi said, “Since last year, the Gyeongnam Provincial Council has been providing beverages in shared cups instead of disposable cups, and many staff members have actively participated in using reusable cups. By joining this Zero Challenge, the council will strive to keep pace and hopes to contribute even a little to laying the foundation for responding to the climate crisis.”
