Inspection of Dust-Generating Worksites, Expansion of Road Sweeper Operations, etc.
On the 7th, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will implement emergency reduction measures for high-concentration fine dust in accordance with the enforcement of the "Special Act on the Reduction and Management of Fine Dust."
According to the "Special Act on the Reduction and Management of Fine Dust," when a certain level of high-concentration fine dust occurs or is predicted, the Governor of Jeollanam-do (Director of Jeollanam-do Health and Environment Research Institute) issues an emergency reduction order.
The issuance criteria are met when any of the following conditions apply: ▲ the average concentration of ultrafine dust on the day exceeds 50㎍/㎥ and the average concentration on the next day is predicted to exceed 50㎍/㎥, ▲ an ultrafine dust advisory or warning is issued on the day and the average concentration on the next day is predicted to exceed 50㎍/㎥, ▲ the average concentration of ultrafine dust on the next day is predicted to exceed 75㎍/㎥.
When the emergency reduction measures for high-concentration fine dust are issued, the county will implement practical fine dust reduction measures such as ▲ expanding the operation of road vacuum suction cleaning vehicles and ▲ inspecting dust-generating workplaces and construction sites.
The emergency reduction order is reviewed at 5 p.m. on the day and disseminated before implementation. Administrative and public institutions, workplaces, and construction sites subject to the measures must comply with the reduction measures from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. the following day.
A county official stated, "Currently, the fine dust issue is comparable to a disaster situation, so we urge residents to actively cooperate with the fine dust response action guidelines to reduce fine dust."
