Jang Ye-chan Raises 'An Min-seok Son School Violence Allegation'... An Min-seok Denies "No School Violence"

An Minseok "Must Take Legal and Political Responsibility"
Jang Yechan Proposes 'An Minseok Hearing'

Jang Ye-chan, the youngest supreme council member of the People Power Party, raised allegations of school violence on the 6th, claiming that a post exposing school violence involving the son of Ahn Min-seok, a member of the Democratic Party, was discovered. In response, Ahn denied the claims.

At the People Power Party supreme council meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Jang said, "I came across a victim's appeal stating that they were subjected to school violence by Ahn Min-seok's son," adding, "A post requesting an apology and exposing group bullying was found online, written by a woman who identified herself as a graduate of Osan Uncheon High School."

Jang continued, "The victim claims that they were continuously bullied by Ahn’s son when the victim was a second-year high school student in 2012," and emphasized, "I hope Ahn provides a responsible response regarding the truth of this post."

The post Jang referred to was uploaded on an online bulletin board in 2020. The title was "I want to publicize the school violence by Ahn Min-seok, a member of the National Assembly from Osan, and his son Ahn ○neul." The author claimed that Ahn’s son secretly filmed them with a cellphone and even used abusive language.

On the same day, Ahn refuted the allegations through his personal Facebook, stating, "Upon verification, there was no school violence," and added, "Therefore, I did not exert any influence over this matter."

Ahn also directed remarks at Jang, saying, "He should bear legal and political responsibility," and criticized, "It is an extremely irresponsible act to label someone as a perpetrator of school violence without any verification."

In response, Jang proposed an "Ahn Min-seok hearing." On his Facebook, Jang said, "Without further ado, let's first hold an 'Ahn Min-seok hearing' at the National Assembly," and urged, "I hope his son will definitely attend."

Jang also pointed out, "Rather than my allegations, I want Ahn to clearly state his position on the post," and added, "If the victim has specifically reported the details of the harm, a parent’s role is not to simply believe their son and say 'it’s not true,' but to scold him and demand an apology."
