Musma, an industrial site monitoring solution company, has secured bridge investment from Shinhan Venture Investment and Quad Ventures. This follow-up investment came about a year after the Series A funding raised in January last year, with the amount undisclosed.
Musma, a subsidiary of Busan Union Technology Holdings, provides the service Mcas, which innovatively improves harsh industrial environments with the goal of enhancing safety and productivity.
Mcas builds an integrated control system based on on-site data and offers a total solution and services optimized for field operations, including real-time data collection, processing, and analysis.
By attaching sensors to the equipment and locations to be managed and then accessing Mcas, any authorized personnel can easily understand the environment, heavy equipment, and material information of domestic and international sites.
With this investment as a turning point, Musma plans to expand its customer base from shipbuilding and construction to manufacturing and logistics sectors. Additionally, it aims to broaden its service scope to the smart factory field, where risks are recognized through video and automatic control is implemented, strengthening research and development as well as sales.
As the first step, Musma launched a service that automatically sets the optimal travel path by recognizing obstacles around indoor cranes and can perform automatic control if a collision is detected during route travel. This service has already been introduced in the shipbuilding and steel sectors, verifying its reliability.
In the second quarter of this year, Musma plans to release a service that allows checking blind spots around heavy equipment through 360-degree top-view video and quickly issues warning signals only when there is a collision risk with workers.
Shin Sung-il, CEO of Musma, said, “With this investment, we will expand our lineup of automation and safety solutions to more diverse fields such as logistics and manufacturing, increase hiring to support this, and solidify our position as a leader in domestic industrial solutions.”
He added, “There are many inquiries about the soon-to-be-launched ‘360-degree Around View Collision Prevention System’ and the trusted ‘Indoor Crane Optimal Autonomous Driving and Collision Prevention System.’ Based on this investment, we plan to accelerate sales growth.”
