Full Support for Replacement Costs of Aging Equipment
Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will promote the "2023 Construction Machinery Engine Replacement Support Project" from April 10 until the budget is exhausted to reduce air pollutant emissions by replacing old engines of construction machinery with new ones.
With a budget of 160 million KRW, about 10 construction machines will be supported, and the full amount will be covered without any self-payment. The number of supported units may vary within the budget depending on the device specifications.
The project targets construction machinery manufactured before 2004 equipped with old engines (Tier-1 or lower), such as forklifts, excavators, loaders, and rollers.
Construction machinery manufactured before 2005 with power between 75kw and less than 130kw, and construction machinery manufactured before 2006 with less than 75kw are also included in the project scope.
The machinery must be registered in Gurye-gun as of the announcement date, and the owner must meet the conditions of owning construction machinery that has not been fitted with emission reduction devices or converted to low-emission engines through government support, and having no overdue local taxes or environmental improvement charges as of the application date.
Selection of recipients will be on a first-come, first-served basis based on the application receipt date, and owners of construction machinery receiving subsidies must operate the machinery compulsorily for two years from the date of the engine replacement structural modification inspection.
A county official stated, "We will strive to improve air quality, including reducing fine dust, through the promotion of the construction machinery engine replacement support project. We hope for the interest and applications of many residents."
