Supporting Busan's Bid for World Expo... Kyungsung University Glocal Culture Department Participates in Haeundae-gu Event

Professor Kim Juhyun's team from the Department of Glocal Culture, Cultural Planning Major at Kyungsung University is participating in the '2030 Busan World Expo Bid Support Event' from the 1st to the 9th of this month.


Hosted by Haeundae-gu and organized by the International Newspaper, this event is held on the sandy beach of Haeundae Beach in line with the visit schedule of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) inspection team evaluating the possibility of hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo.


The event aims to showcase the citizens' enthusiasm for hosting the 2030 Busan World Expo to the inspection team and the world, while expressing the charm of Busan.

Supporting Busan's Bid for World Expo... Kyungsung University Glocal Culture Department Participates in Haeundae-gu Event ‘Hope of the Whale’ Sculpture.

Professor Kim Juhyun from the Department of Glocal Culture hopes for the hosting of the 2030 Busan World Expo and the preservation of Busan's marine ecosystem. He was responsible for planning various cultural experience programs that encourage citizen participation and exhibited the 'Hope of the Whale' sculpture made using marine waste.


The 'Hope of the Whale' sculpture was created in collaboration with the Gachi Art Cooperative, with participation from Kyungsung University students Kim Junho, Kim Yerim, Park Minjin, Lee Youngkyung, Lee Eunjin, and Choi Wooyoung.


Haeundae-gu plans to install the Expo Haeundae Garden and some installations until early June to maintain the momentum for the 2030 Busan World Expo bid even after the inspection team departs.
