"Now You Have to Pray to Robots" Lottery Winner Using Number Given by ChatGPT

A Thai man who won the lottery using a set of numbers generated by the AI chatbot ChatGPT has recently become a hot topic.

On the 4th (local time), Thai media The Tiger reported that a Thai man named Bunin won 2,000 baht (about 77,000 KRW) with the last two digits 99 from the numbers 57, 27, 29, and 99 provided by ChatGPT.

According to The Tiger, Bunin shared his success story on his Facebook, saying, "Now we have to pray to robots."

Although the prize money was not a large amount, the media reported that his experience has caused a significant stir in the gambling industry.

Some people were excited, saying they would use ChatGPT to find lottery winning numbers, but others expressed skepticism.

Some pointed out, "Those numbers were just random numbers chosen by Bunin, and one of them happened to match by chance," demanding proof of how he asked ChatGPT to provide the numbers.

In response, Bunin said, "I asked ChatGPT about lottery winning numbers several times, and ChatGPT replied, 'It cannot be predicted and depends on luck.'"

He added that ChatGPT advised him, "Don't obsess over the lottery; go outside and exercise."

However, Bunin did not give up and asked about lottery winning numbers in various ways, inputting statistics of winning numbers over the past 10 years along with hypothetical scenarios. Then, the chatbot gave him formulas and numbers, he explained at the time.

Meanwhile, ChatGPT is a conversational AI chatbot developed by OpenAI (openai.com). "Chat" is short for chatting, and GPT stands for "Generated Pre-trained Transformer."

ChatGPT is a service that engages in conversation based on text input by users in the chat window, and it has caused a sensation by surpassing 1 million daily users just five days after its public release.
