Operating a Dedicated Team to Provide Customized Health Management Services
Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 4th that it has been selected for the "Early Life Health Management Project" contest hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and will officially implement the project starting in the second half of this year.
The Early Life Health Management Project is a program in which a dedicated team consisting of infant health nurses, social workers, and nutritionists visits pregnant women and families with infants under the age of two to provide customized health management services such as health counseling and parenting education.
The public health center plans to provide services by classifying registered pregnant women into basic visit and continuous visit groups regardless of income or property through health evaluations.
The basic visit provides health counseling on nutrition, exercise, sleep, etc., depression assessment and emotional support for mothers within 8 weeks after childbirth, as well as newborn health and development evaluations. The continuous visit offers ongoing counseling and education from before childbirth until the child turns two years old for pregnant women experiencing difficulties in pregnancy and parenting due to depression and stress.
Goheung-gun is promoting various pregnancy and childbirth support policies to create a favorable environment for having and raising children, including ▲free prenatal tests for pregnant women ▲support for Oriental and Western infertility treatment costs ▲postpartum care support (postpartum care vouchers) ▲childbirth congratulatory gift support ▲delivery medical expense support ▲nutritional plus supplementation support for vulnerable groups.
A county official said, “Through this project, we will do our best to help both mothers and children start off healthy and provide various health services to make Goheung a great place to have and raise children.”
