Goseong County Public Health Center in Gyeongnam conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training for health institution staff with the cooperation of Goseong Fire Station, as the importance of emergency first aid and disaster response preparedness has emerged socially.
Goseong County Public Health Center in Gyeongnam conducted cardiopulmonary resuscitation training for health institution staff.
This training will be held three times until the 7th, focusing on improving the practical response capabilities of health institution staff responsible for the health of county residents in emergency situations and cases of cardiac arrest. The program combined theoretical education and practical training on CPR and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs).
Director Shim Yoon-kyung said, “Even if you learn first aid, you tend to freeze up and panic when an actual situation occurs. CPR must be performed within the golden time of cardiac arrest, which is within 4 minutes, to increase the chances of survival. If cardiac arrest continues for more than 4 to 6 minutes, brain function stops and life is at risk.”
She added, “Please do not forget that it is you, right next to the patient, who must take action.”
Goseong County plans to separately operate a four-day training session on CPR and AED use for about 270 people, including legally mandated education targets, AED managers, and the general public, at the Agricultural Technology Center auditorium in October, in cooperation with the regional emergency medical center in the province.
