From Mudflat Picnics to On-site Experiences
Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) is receiving great responses by operating career and mudflat exploration experiences to provide students with self-directed career planning and diverse experiential opportunities.
According to the county on the 3rd, the 'Visiting Experience Classroom' for elementary and middle school students is a visiting career experience event that goes to each applying school. It produces animations based on the Muan mudflat to increase interest and understanding of the mudflat and provides students with opportunities to explore careers.

Since starting last month, it has received great responses from local students, and the program will be operated during the semester until December.
Additionally, the 'Ecological Mudflat Exhibition Explanation,' which explores the ecology of the Muan mudflat and various organisms, and 'I am also a Science Explainer,' which offers theoretical education and field experience with science explainers, can be experienced at the Ecological Mudflat Science Center and can be applied for through Dreamgil.
Along with career experiences, to provide various experiential opportunities to visitors, from April, the Ecological Mudflat Science Center operates weekend family-targeted experience events called 'Mudflat Picnic' and 'ECO PLAY.'
The Mudflat Picnic is a family program where participants can enjoy Muan’s local food and appreciate the beautiful Muan mudflat while learning about the value of the mudflat. It is held every third Saturday of the month.
ECO PLAY is an exhibition-linked program where participants can listen to exhibition explanations and experience making mudflat creatures. Reservations can be made through the Muan Hwangto Mudflat Land website.
Park Ki-su, Director of the Ecological Mudflat Business Office, said, “We will continue to develop and operate programs to support students’ career activities, spread the culture of preserving the Muan mudflat, provide cultural enjoyment opportunities to culturally marginalized groups, and operate programs to bridge cultural gaps.” He added, “We also ask for much support and interest in the 9th Muan Hwangto Mudflat Festival to be held in June.”
