The Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority conducted a 'Marine Accident Prevention Campaign' on the 1st.
On this day, the Pyeongtaek Port Authority announced on the 3rd that it carried out a safe navigation marine accident prevention campaign in cooperation with the Coast Guard and Gyeonggi Province at Jebu Marina located in Hwaseong.
The campaign focused on preventing incidents and accidents that could occur during the first departure after long-term winter storage, such as ▲engine failure ▲battery discharge ▲vessel flooding. The main inspection items included engine oil, fuel filter, battery, cooling line, and vessel equipment.
The Pyeongtaek Port Authority especially waived the facility usage fee for the inspected vessels on the day and provided small souvenirs and informational leaflets.
Additionally, the Pyeongtaek Port Authority held a 'Safety Prayer Ceremony,' a safety awareness event wishing for safe voyages and accident-free operations. The Safety Prayer Ceremony was held with about 50 customers moored at Jebu Marina in attendance.
Kim Seok-gu, President of the Pyeongtaek Port Authority, stated, "We expect that the safe navigation marine accident prevention campaign and the Safety Prayer Ceremony will strengthen marine accident prevention and safety awareness," adding, "We will continue to fulfill the Authority's social role and responsibility to foster a safe marine leisure culture and prevent safety accidents."
