Hyundai Motor and Busan Citizens' Expo Promotional Video Surpasses 18 Million Views in Six Days

Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 2nd that the promotional video for Busan, created to support the bid for the 2030 World Expo, has surpassed 18 million views.


The video was released on the 26th of last month, coinciding with the visit of the International Bureau of Expositions (BIE) inspection team, which oversees the selection of the Expo host city. Titled "Busan Citizens Invite You," a total of 17 videos were uploaded, surpassing 18 million views as of the 1st.


Hyundai Motor and Busan Citizens' Expo Promotional Video Surpasses 18 Million Views in Six Days At the Hyundai Motor Group exhibition hall's large LED screen at the '2023 Seoul Mobility Show' held at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, a promotional video for the Busan World Expo bid, created together with the citizens of Busan, is being displayed.

The global integrated video featuring all 15 BIE member countries' languages has exceeded 13.3 million views. Of the total 18 million views, 11.2 million views, or 62%, came from overseas. The video received over 10,500 likes and around 1,800 comments.


The country with the highest number of views for the integrated video was Peru, followed by Indonesia, T?rkiye, Chile, Serbia, and Paraguay. The short-form video was most viewed in Libya, with 440,000 views. Comments on each video included supportive messages such as "Libya and Korea are brother countries," "I love how kind the people are," and "In 2030, I will go to Busan."


Hyundai Motor Group showcased this video not only on digital channels but also at the Gwanghwamun Square event held to pray for the bid’s success during the BIE inspection team’s visit, as well as at the 2023 Seoul Mobility Show held at KINTEX in Goyang. The BIE inspection team evaluates the candidate countries’ bidding capabilities and preparation levels, preparing an inspection report. Among various evaluation criteria, the enthusiasm and support of the citizens of the bidding country are said to be heavily weighted.
