Donation Ceremony for Give&Race Held at 8 AM on the 2nd
Donation Funds Raised from Participation Fees of the 10th Give&Race Event
On the 2nd, the Busan Metropolitan City received a donation of 500 million KRW from the ‘MBK Social Contribution Committee’ to support children and adolescents in the Busan area.
The donation was presented at the ‘10th Give & Race’ marathon event, jointly hosted by the MBK Social Contribution Committee, Busan MBC, and the Children and Future Foundation.
The event was attended by Mayor Park Hyung-jun, Thomas Klein, Chairman of the Mercedes-Benz Korea Social Contribution Committee, Choi Byung-han, President of Busan MBC, and Lee Hoon-gyu, Chairman of the Children and Future Foundation, among others.
Since 2020, the MBK Social Contribution Committee has been raising and donating funds annually through participation fees from the Give & Race event to support vulnerable children and adolescents.
This donation was raised through the participation fees of the ‘10th Give & Race’ (hereafter Give & Race) event and was delivered to the Children and Future Foundation, a social welfare corporation, to be used as project funds to support the dreams of vulnerable children and adolescents in the Busan area.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “The donation raised from the participation fees of about 20,000 marathon runners nationwide, including Busan, contributes to creating healthy and warm communities across the country, including our city. I would like to thank the organizers who take the lead in social contribution, and our city will also provide special attention and support to ensure the donation is used well.”
The ‘Give & Race,’ held for the fourth time in Busan, is expected to be a dream race for participants as it will be held for the first time this year as a non-face-to-face event due to COVID-19, running along the fully bloomed cherry blossoms at Gwangalli Beach and across Gwangandaegyo Bridge.
