Opening Ceremony of Nakdonggang River Free Bicycle Rental Station

Changwon City in Gyeongnam Special City has started operating a free bicycle rental service along the Nakdong River Green Bicycle Path so that all citizens can use bicycles.

On the 1st, an opening ceremony was held for the free bicycle rental station located at 14-16 Hacheon-ri, Buk-myeon, Uichang-gu, along the Nakdong River Green Bicycle Path.

Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam has started offering free bicycle rentals on the Nakdong River Green Bicycle Path.

The Nakdong River Bicycle Path free rental station, operated by the Changwon City Bicycle Riding Practice Council with subsidies from the city, will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding the Chuseok holiday, rainy days, and lunch time (from 12:00 to 12:30), until October 31.

The rental station is equipped with 120 standard bicycles and 30 tandem bicycles suitable for families, couples, or friends to ride together.

Citizens or tourists who wish to use the service can visit the rental station with their ID card and simply fill out an application form to freely use the bicycles for up to 2 hours on weekdays and 1 hour on weekends at no cost.

Park Jin-yeol, Director of the Climate and Environment Bureau, said, “Despite the restrictions due to COVID-19 last year, many citizens used the Nakdong River Green Bicycle Path free rental station. We hope it becomes a leisure space for more citizens to create happy memories with their families and loved ones.”
