Simultaneous Operation of 7 Gwanak-gu Infant Forest Experience Centers Including Cheongryongsan and Nakseongdae Until This November
Popular Among Infants for Promoting Physical and Mental Health While Enjoying Nature in the Forest
Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is gaining popularity by opening the ‘Gwanaksan Infant Forest Experience Center’ to provide healthy forest experiences for infants and families in the warm spring season.
The ‘Gwanaksan Infant Forest Experience Center’ consists of a total of 7 locations in the area (▲Cheongryongsan ▲Nakseongdae ▲Seonwoo Park ▲Samseong-dong ▲Daehak-dong ▲Danggok ▲Inheon-dong), offering forest education programs that make the most of the existing natural environment, along with comfortable forest play spaces such as adventure playgrounds, insect hotels, rock climbing walls, and hammocks.
This year as well, from March to November, the district opens the Gwanaksan Infant Forest Experience Centers to support children in fully enjoying natural elements such as phytoncides, negative ions, sunlight, and wind in the dense forest, thereby enhancing creativity, psychological stability, and immunity.
Every year, regular user institutions such as kindergartens and daycare centers apply at the beginning of the year to participate in voluntary forest experiences 1 to 3 times a week. For individual use, reservations can be made through the Seoul Metropolitan Public Reservation Service website.
Last year, the district operated 84 special programs with 45,440 infants participating, receiving great responses from residents. It also achieved the honor of being selected as the Best Autonomous District in the ‘2022 Infant Forest Family Festival Excellent Operation Institution Evaluation’ hosted by Seoul City.
A district official stated, “We will continue to operate safe and lively infant forest experience centers where children can engage in activities in the forest and cultivate natural ecological emotions,” adding, “We will also continuously strive to ensure that not only children but all family members can create joyful memories at the infant forest experience centers.”
