2023 Dongdaemun-gu Spring Flower Festival Held, Residents Enjoy the Scent of Spring on the Weekend

The '2023 Dongdaemun-gu Spring Flower Festival' opened on the 1st around the 'Jangan Cherry Blossom Road'.
On the weekend, residents who visited the festival site with family, lovers, and friends enjoyed the romance of spring by taking photos and strolling under the cherry blossom trees.
On the 1st, residents visiting the 'Dongdaemun-gu Spring Flower Festival' are walking along the trail while being showered with flower petals.
The busking stage set up next to the Jangan Cherry Blossom Road Small Library (featuring haegeum, gayageum, jazz, bossa nova, etc.) boosted the excitement of residents walking along the cherry blossom road. At the event venue along the Jungnangcheon waterfront trail, visitors who came after three years were welcomed by side events such as ▲carbon neutral experience and promotion booths ▲food booths by neighborhood ▲children's theme park ▲face painting, as well as cultural performances by local artists.
In particular, the 'Eco-friendly Flower Pot Making (recycling plant residues and sawdust)' event, prepared as part of the carbon neutral experience, received great response from residents.
From 7 p.m., the official opening ceremony was held on the main stage at Jungnangcheon 1st Sports Park, hosted by comedian Jeong Beom-gyun, where many residents enjoyed congratulatory performances by singers Park Hyun-bin, Norazo, and Dongdaemun-gu ambassador singer Noh Ji-hoon.
Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Lee Pil-hyung, who took the stage at the opening ceremony, said, “Seeing so many residents gathered like this, it definitely feels like a festive day. A festive day is a day to become one and unite,” adding, “Together with the residents, we will create a new Dongdaemun-gu, a ‘City of Flowers’ and a ‘Carbon Neutral City’ that is pleasant to walk and live in.”
Dongdaemun-gu cooperated with fire and police departments to deploy safety personnel to ensure orderly passage through densely crowded areas in a single line, making thorough safety management until the end of the event.
The festival continues until the 2nd, and photo zones such as flower benches and full moon installations set up along the walking paths, as well as nightscape lighting that mystically illuminates the walking paths at night, will operate until the 16th of this month.
