Seocho-gu Calls for 70 Youth Artist Performance Groups Aged 19-39 to Participate in the 'Seocho Chamber Music Festival' Until April 4

Opportunities to Participate in the Seocho Chamber Music Festival, Private Venue Performances, Customized Performance Planning Lectures, and the ‘Year-End Concert’ from April to November

Seocho-gu (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) announced that it is publicly recruiting 70 youth artist groups to participate in the ‘2023 Seocho Chamber Music Festival,’ which will showcase various performances until April 4.

The ‘Seocho Chamber Music Festival’ is a cultural performance project that provides performance opportunities to young artists and activation opportunities for private performance venues, based on the rich musical infrastructure within Seocho-gu, the first district in the nation designated as a Music Culture District.

This year, 70 talented youth artist groups consisting of three or more members aged 19 to 39 will be selected to hold a relay-style concert featuring various classical chamber music performances throughout the year at small venues and other cultural spaces.

The selected youth artists will be given performance opportunities by team from April to November during the Seocho Chamber Music Festival period, and in the second half of the year, they will be supported to showcase their dreams and talents by holding a planned ‘Year-End Concert.’ Additionally, through customized performance planning and administrative regular lectures and the ‘Chamber Music Masterclass’ for training professional chamber musicians, a foundation will be laid for them to become leading figures in the cultural and artistic fields.

The district will also select 11 teams composed of university students and hold a ‘University Chamber Music Festival’ in July and August, providing students with opportunities for growth through challenges and experience.

Meanwhile, since its inception in 2019, the Seocho Chamber Music Festival has involved a total of 240 youth artist groups, with 240 performances held. Furthermore, youth artists participating in the performances receive performance fees supported by Seocho-gu, up to 300,000 KRW per individual and up to 1,200,000 KRW per team.
