The National Pukyong National University Humanities Korea Plus (HK+) Project Group and Busan City Yeonsan Library signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the 31st.
On this day, the two institutions signed the agreement in writing and agreed to establish a mutual cooperation system for the joint use of marine and fisheries materials and practical cooperative activities related to the popularization of humanities in the local community.
The Pukyong National University Humanities Korea Plus Project Group has developed various connections between the sea, a regional characteristic, and the humanities by establishing a cooperative system with local educational institutions through its regional humanities center. It has also worked to cultivate the humanities literacy of university students and the general public through special lectures on maritime humanities.
Yeonsan Library, designated as a specialized marine and fisheries library under the public library specialization policy of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, has set up a marine and fisheries materials corner, focusing on collecting, managing, and utilizing related materials, and has operated various exhibitions and event programs related to this field.
Based on the shared recognition of the need to share these work achievements and cooperate, the two institutions signed this MOU and plan to open and operate the "Pukyong Humanities One-Day Special Lecture" to disseminate research achievements related to the Northeast Asian maritime area.
This year, in celebration of Reading Culture Month in May, a lecture will be held inviting authors who have written books related to the sea to share stories about their books. The Pukyong Humanities One-Day Special Lecture is scheduled to be held four times each in May and September.
