The scholarships will be awarded to 60 local students who have demonstrated exemplary academic performance despite economically challenging circumstances.
These partner companies, which supply ship equipment and parts to HD Hyundai, have been fostering local talent by providing a total of 500 million KRW in scholarships to 900 students over 23 years since 2001.
Chairman Jo Si-young said, “I hope our small contribution will serve as a foundation for growing students to freely pursue their dreams and become outstanding talents.”
In addition to the scholarship program, the HD Hyundai Integrated Council has been delivering donations to neighbors in urgent need, such as people with disabilities and elderly living alone, since 1991, spreading warmth throughout the local community.
