Collection and Inspection of 70 Items Including Pharmaceuticals, Quasi-Drugs, and Cosmetics
Gyeongsangnam-do will conduct the collection and inspection of distributed pharmaceuticals for 2023 until December.
According to Gyeongnam Province, this inspection is carried out to ensure the safety of pharmaceuticals, quasi-drugs, cosmetics, and other products within the province and to strengthen quality control.
The collection target for 2023 is a total of 70 cases: 20 pharmaceuticals, 20 quasi-drugs, and 30 cosmetics.
The collected items include antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory drugs, teeth whitening agents, and functional cosmetics with UV protection.
Pharmaceuticals and other items collected from pharmaceutical wholesalers and other sales businesses will be inspected by the Provincial Health and Environment Research Institute.
After testing for content, heavy metals, quantity, and microbial limits, non-compliant items will be subject to usage prohibition, recall orders, and administrative measures.
No Hye-young, Director of the Food and Drug Division, stated, “Through the collection and inspection of pharmaceuticals and related products, we will prevent the distribution of potentially harmful pharmaceuticals and promptly recall and dispose of non-compliant products to protect the safety and health of the residents.”
