The 2024 academic year high school admission process in the Gyeonggi region will begin on August 25.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education announced the basic plan for high school admissions containing this information on the 31st.
New high school students will be selected based on middle school grades and the contents recorded in the school life records, divided into early admission schools and late admission schools. The early admission process for science high schools, Meister high schools, arts high schools, physical education high schools, specialized high schools, and specialized departments of general high schools will take place from August 25 to December 4.
Late admission schools, including general high schools, autonomous public high schools, foreign language high schools, international high schools, and autonomous private high schools, will conduct admissions from December 8 to February 16 of the following year. The admission method remains the same as in the 2023 academic year.
Academic grades will reflect only achievement levels and raw scores, excluding subject standard deviations. Volunteer activities require a minimum of 15 hours integrated over three years for a perfect score, and award achievements recognize only one school award per semester.
