HDC Hyundai Development Company Appoints 15 Advisory Members to Construction Innovation Team

On the 30th, HDC Hyundai Development Company held a commissioning ceremony for advisory committee members of the Construction Innovation Team at its headquarters located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.


The HDC Hyundai Development Construction Innovation Team presented appointment letters to 15 outside experts selected as advisory committee members through a company-wide recruitment process, including Kim Byung-ha, advisor of the Seoul branch of the Korea Construction Association, and Choi Yong-hwa, director of the Korea Construction Safety Association's Technical Research Institute.

At the event, Park Hong-geun, head of the Construction Innovation Team, said, "In the rapidly changing era of the construction industry, the specialized knowledge of each expert committee member will greatly contribute to securing the company's safety and quality." He added, "We ask for your objective and effective advice and activities for the development of our company by evaluating HDC Hyundai Development's efforts to improve safety and quality." He continued, "We will operate the Construction Innovation Team together with the expert committee members so that HDC Hyundai Development can become a company that delivers satisfaction and inspiration to customers."


The appointed advisory committee members will serve as responsible members for eight major high-risk processes selected over two years (including earth retaining, foundation piles, top-down construction, steel frames, deck plates, large formwork, bridges, tunnels, etc.). They will provide objective and professional advisory activities regarding process improvements, automated design and maintenance technologies, and the introduction of smart technologies on site.


Meanwhile, since its launch in August 2022, the HDC Hyundai Development Construction Innovation Team has been conducting activities to preemptively manage risks, enhance technical capabilities, and renew safety and quality management systems. Going forward, the Construction Innovation Team plans to carry out various activities to achieve HDC Hyundai Development's safety and health goals for this year, including establishing a culture of self-discipline and prevention at sites with joint participation of labor and management, proactively securing structural safety of temporary structures, building a SMART SAFETY system, and spreading a safety and quality culture through participation and cooperation.
