Where do young people aged 20 to 30 prefer to visit during the cherry blossom season?
SK Telecom announced on the 31st that, based on an analysis of mobile data preprocessed by artificial intelligence (AI) and statistical measurement of floating populations, young people born between 1985 and 2004 were found to frequently visit the 'Seodottuk' Triangle Belt (Seoul Forest, Dosan Park, Ttukseom Amusement Park) during the cherry blossom season.
This survey was conducted using SKT’s big data analysis platform 'GeoVision Puzzle' and analyzed visitor data to tourist attractions in Seoul and the metropolitan area during last year’s cherry blossom season (April 9 to April 17).
By age group, people in their 20s preferred Seoul Forest and Ttukseom Hangang Park; those in their 30s favored Dosan Park and Seoul Grand Park; people in their 40s chose Dongtan Yeoul Park and Korean Folk Village; those in their 50s visited Haengju Fortress and Hwasan Sports Park; people in their 60s preferred Daemyeong Port and Namhansanseong; and those in their 70s favored Soyo Mountain and Boramae Park.
Many Cafes and Bakeries Nearby
To analyze the preferences of the 20s and 30s age group, the survey used two indicators during the cherry blossom season: the lift (visit preference) of 20s and 30s visitors compared to all spring outing visitors in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province, and the number of visitors.
Based on visit preference, which shows the proportion of visits by a specific age group, the 20s and 30s showed the strongest preference for Seoul Forest, Dosan Park, and Ttukseom Hangang Park.
Seoul Forest had 26,000 visitors aged 20 to 30, with a visit preference 1.85 times higher than that of all spring outing visitors. Dosan Park attracted a total of 110,000 visitors, with a preference level of 1.78 times. Ttukseom Hangang Park had 81,000 visitors, with a preference of 1.72 times, and Naksan Park had 19,000 visitors, with a preference of 1.53 times.
Seoul Forest, Dosan Park, and Naksan Park, which are preferred by the 20s and 30s, were found to be locations with many cafes nearby.
Meanwhile, based on the number of visitors, the ranking was ▲ Seokchon Lake (598,000 visitors) ▲ Yeouido Yunjungno (238,000 visitors) ▲ Dosan Park (110,000 visitors) ▲ Ttukseom Hangang Park (81,000 visitors) ▲ Mangwon Hangang Park (39,000 visitors).

Those in their 30s tended to be ‘family’ types who enjoyed cherry blossoms with their families at places like Dosan Park, Seoul Grand Park, Korean Folk Village, Imjingak Peace Nuri, and Dongtan Lake Park.
People in their 40s mostly visited parks near their residences, such as Dongtan Yeoul Park in Hwaseong City, Korean Folk Village, Gaenari Park in Hwaseong City, and Baedari Ecological Park in Pyeongtaek City.
Those in their 50s frequently visited Haengju Fortress, Hwasan Sports Park in Hwaseong City, Mulwang Lake in Siheung City, and Banwol Lake in Gunpo City.
