On the 31st, according to a comprehensive report by Asia Economy, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency requested an investigation in mid-month to the Seocho Police Station in Seoul regarding Sergeant A, who is suspected of showing investigation records of a case, which was being investigated after former Minister Park was reported by a civic group.

According to the police, Sergeant A reportedly showed documents related to the case to former Minister Park. The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency discovered suspicious circumstances while investigating a complaint case against Sergeant A and requested an investigation.

It has been confirmed that Sergeant A has been transferred to the Songpa Police Station in Seoul. The police are examining the fact that the documents were shown and the relationship of these documents to the case.

Former Minister Park has been under police investigation since July last year after being reported by the Civic Action for Judicial Justice for forgery of official documents and obstruction of business. She is suspected of having her twin sons’ high school student records altered by an external party at a private academy rather than the school, and these falsified records were used in university admissions.

Due to this incident, the case has reportedly been transferred from the Suseo Police Station in Seoul to the Bangbae Police Station in Seoul.

A police official stated, "We are currently verifying the exact circumstances of the case," adding, "However, it is difficult to confirm specific details."

Last year, controversy arose when an investigator disclosed the home address of Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon to the civic media outlet The Tamza. According to the National Police Agency, 25 police officers were disciplined for leaking official secrets between January 2021 and last February. There is criticism that inappropriate behavior during police investigations has repeatedly occurred, leading to excessive internal discipline laxity.
