‘Changwon Special City Integrated Defense Council’ ... Establishing a Strong Defense Posture Changwon Special City held the "2023 1st Quarter Changwon Special City Integrated Defense Council" at the Citizen Hall on the 30th.

Through this meeting, the city conducted thematic presentations by each institution on two main topics emphasized at the 56th Central Integrated Defense Meeting held on February 8: ▲Measures to protect residents against North Korea's nuclear and missile threats and high-intensity provocations ▲Measures to strengthen preparedness and capabilities against terrorism and cyber threats. In-depth discussions were held on these topics to establish a robust integrated defense posture.

Mayor Hong stated, “In this severe situation where strategic provocations such as North Korea's potential 7th nuclear test and intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) launches continue, and various cyber attacks and terrorism threats are increasing, we must strengthen the comprehensive security posture of the region involving civilians, government, military, and police to prepare for security threats.”

He added, “In May this year, a nationwide civil defense drill will be conducted for the first time in six years, followed by large-scale actual exercises such as the Hwarang Exercise in July and the Ulchi Exercise in August. Therefore, I hope thorough preparations, continuous communication among related agencies, and comprehensive public awareness campaigns will be carried out to conduct effective drills.”
