Gwangju Buk-gu Supports AI and Software Creative Convergence Coding Education

On the 30th, Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City announced that it will conduct 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Software (SW) Creative Convergence Coding Education' for middle and high school students in the district until May.

This education program has been promoted since 2020 to enhance middle and high school students' understanding of artificial intelligence and software and to motivate career exploration.


So far, 185 students from 11 middle and high schools have completed the curriculum, and the combination of practical and theoretical classes has resulted in high student satisfaction.


Accordingly, Buk-gu selected four middle and high schools?Soongil Middle School, Goryeo High School, Geumho High School, and Gwangju Dongsin Girls' High School?through a preliminary demand survey this year and will support coding education.


The program is conducted in collaboration with the SW-Centered University Project Group of Chosun University, where professional instructors visit schools and provide three 4-hour special lectures focused on AI and SW.


The educational content consists of experience-centered programs such as ▲Understanding and utilization of AI and SW ▲Various robot coding using AI and SW ▲Creation and implementation of machine learning models.


Moon In, the head of Buk-gu Office, said, "An AI Convergence Complex, a core facility of the artificial intelligence industry, is scheduled to be established in the Advanced 3 District within the district," adding, "In line with this, we will discover and operate various programs to nurture talents who will lead the 4th Industrial Revolution era."
