Lee Jong-ho, Minister of Science and ICT, reported assets worth 14,870,032,000 KRW this year. This is the ninth highest amount among central government officials subject to disclosure.
According to the "2022 Regular Asset Change Report" published by the Government Ethics Committee in the official gazette on the 30th, Minister Lee's assets decreased by 1,173,024,000 KRW compared to the assets disclosed in August last year (16,043,056,000 KRW) due to a reduction in deposits and other holdings.
Looking at the detailed asset breakdown, an apartment with an area of 148.86㎡ in Jamwon-dong, Seocho-gu, Seoul, jointly owned with his spouse, was reported at 2,161,000,000 KRW. The largest portion was deposits in his own name, totaling 10,427,398,000 KRW. The minister's spouse also held 409,610,000 KRW in deposits at banks and insurance companies.
Oh Tae-seok, First Vice Minister of Science and ICT, reported assets worth 812,966,000 KRW, an increase of 24,352,000 KRW from last year. Vice Minister Oh reported a Sejong City apartment in his name valued at 1,094,000,000 KRW, a leasehold right for an apartment in Mapo-gu, Seoul worth 30,000,000 KRW, and deposits totaling 168,073,000 KRW under his own, spouse's, eldest daughter’s, and second daughter’s names. Additionally, he reported debts amounting to 749,107,000 KRW.
Park Yoon-gyu, Second Vice Minister of Science and ICT, reported assets worth 3,217,965,000 KRW, an increase of 449,404,000 KRW from last year. The value of his apartment in Sejong City under his name rose by more than 500,000,000 KRW.
Vice Minister Park also reported a leasehold right for a villa in Banpo-dong, Seocho-gu, under his spouse’s name valued at 787,500,000 KRW, deposits totaling 1,268,546,000 KRW under his own, spouse’s, and eldest son’s names, and securities worth 192,586,000 KRW under his and his spouse’s names.
Joo Young-chang, Director General of the Science and Technology Innovation Bureau at the Ministry of Science and ICT, reported assets worth 6,478,984,000 KRW, an increase of 433,344,000 KRW from last year. Director Joo reported an apartment in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, jointly owned with his spouse, valued at 3,148,000,000 KRW, factory land in Yongin-si, Gyeonggi Province, under his spouse’s name worth 231,732,000 KRW, deposits and securities totaling 2,072,658,000 KRW under his own, spouse’s, and eldest daughter’s names, and securities worth 1,044,730,000 KRW.
Ryu Kwang-jun, Director of Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of Science and ICT, reported assets worth 14,293,576,000 KRW, a decrease of 2,719,194,000 KRW from last year. Director Ryu held 1.79 million shares of Heungkuk, a family company, under his own, spouse’s, and eldest son’s names.
Yoo Guk-hee, Chairperson of the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission, reported assets worth 688,800,000 KRW, an increase of 36,991,000 KRW from last year.
