Veteran Society, 'Life After Retirement Begins with Economic Activities and Lifestyle'

Seniors often experience boredom and a repetitive, simple life, leading to a loss of daily enjoyment and a decline in self-esteem, creating a need for new stimulation. In response, the startup Veteran Society Co., Ltd. has proposed a ‘Second Life Planning Platform’ that enables seniors to continue economic activities and maintain an advanced lifestyle even after retirement.

Veteran Society serves as an educational platform by inviting retirees (or those about to retire) as instructors to provide opportunities for education and mentoring.

They offer a curriculum that helps seniors capitalize on their expertise to concretely plan their second life and develop new visions. Beyond functioning as a simple educational platform, they differentiate themselves from other senior service companies by providing opportunities to enjoy hobbies and volunteer activities through networking and activity offerings.

Currently, leveraging the founder’s marketing research and development capabilities, Veteran Society operates senior-specialized content based on senior-focused research, surveys, and data analysis results through offline and online VOD and live education programs. All lectures are conducted by experts in various fields, including current and former professors and professionals, and the education provided helps improve seniors’ digital affinity by supporting their digital life skills.

Previously, Veteran Society’s first offline education project for active seniors, ‘WE School,’ which embodies the meanings of ‘Wisdom’ and ‘Expedition,’ achieved great success with the participation of many professional seniors such as retired executives from large corporations and small business owners.

Starting in April, they plan to comprehensively develop infrastructure and educational programs, including website renewal and course creation, to expand the education programs to the general senior population.

CEO Lee Doo-hee of Veteran Society stated, “Veteran Society provides customized education reflecting the interests and needs of seniors, with high-quality curricula taught directly by experts such as current and former professors and professionals. This is a self-development education that directly contributes to seniors’ quality of life improvement and self-realization, including economic activities. Moving forward, Veteran Society plans to offer a variety of programs ranging from practical education such as brain health management, writing, Nordic walking, and billiards to various activities.”

Meanwhile, Veteran Society (hereafter ‘Veso’) is a startup founded by CEO Lee Doo-hee, a professor of business administration at Korea University and former president of the Korean Academic Society of Business Administration. Currently, Veso has been selected for the ‘Laboratory Specialized Early Startup Package Additional Recruitment Project’ by Korea University Crimson Startup Support Group and is receiving six months of support including commercialization funding, startup consulting, and promotional marketing.
