National Police Agency Collaborates Closely with International Police Organizations
Yoon Hee-geun, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, attended a safety meeting for the Korean community held in Canada on the 29th (local time) and stated, "The primary goal of this visit to Canada is to establish a safe living environment to secure the rights and interests of our compatriots."
Commissioner Yoon also expressed condolences for Andrew Hong, a Korean police officer who was fatally shot in the line of duty last year, and offered words of comfort to the families of fallen officers and the Korean community.
Kim Jeong-hee, President of the Korean Association, responded, "We expect this visit to greatly contribute to enhancing the safety of the Korean community."
The safety meeting was attended by over 30 representatives of the Korean community, including Kim Jeong-hee, President of the Toronto Korean Association, Jo Seong-jun, Member of the Ontario Provincial Parliament, and Kim Yeon-su, President of the Toronto Chapter of the National Unification Advisory Council. They exchanged opinions on improving the perceived safety of the Korean community and discussed support measures at the National Police Agency level.
Meanwhile, the National Police Agency plans to expand the dispatch of police attach?s to protect overseas nationals and will closely cooperate with international police organizations such as Interpol, Europol, AsianaPol, and Afripol to support the government's protection of overseas nationals.
