Hyundai Motor Group announced that the Hyundai Ioniq 5 was selected as the "Best Family Electric Vehicle" and the Kia Niro EV was chosen as the "Best Commuter Electric Vehicle" in the "2023 Electric Vehicle Top Picks" released on the 30th by Cars.com, a leading U.S. automotive review website.

The Electric Vehicle Top Picks is an evaluation conducted by Cars.com for the first time last year, selecting the best electric vehicles in four categories based on vehicle usage characteristics: family, commuter, luxury, and value for money.

Cars.com praised the Ioniq 5 for its spacious interior based on the dedicated electric vehicle platform E-GMP, highlighting it as an optimized vehicle for traveling with family. They also emphasized its excellent performance with a maximum driving range of 458 km on a single charge and the application of an ultra-fast charging system as strengths. The Ioniq 5 received this award for the second time, following last year.

Ricky Rao, Head of Product Planning at Hyundai Motor North America, said, “The Ioniq 5 was well received because it offers a spacious interior and ample cargo space, making it convenient to use as a family vehicle.”

The Niro EV, selected as the best commuter electric vehicle, was highly rated for its maximum driving range of over 400 km on a single charge and the ability to charge from 10% to 80% in 45 minutes using a 100 kW fast charger. Additionally, Cars.com cited the Niro EV’s award factors as its sleek exterior design along with customer-favored features such as the 10.25-inch panoramic display and heated rear seats.
