Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will launch the 'Oriental Medicine Infertility Support Project' for infertile couples starting from the 3rd of next month.
On the 30th, Seongnam City announced that, in collaboration with the Seongnam Oriental Medicine Association, it will provide up to 1.8 million KRW in Oriental medicine infertility treatment costs not only for infertile women but also for men. The project budget is shared with Seongnam City covering 1.46 million KRW and Oriental medicine clinics contributing 340,000 KRW to support the cost of herbal medicine.
The city will initially support 15 people. Eligible recipients are residents of Seongnam City diagnosed with infertility. They can receive herbal medicine prescriptions for three months at designated Oriental medicine clinics (8 locations) in Seongnam City.
To apply for support, applicants must submit an infertility diagnosis certificate, a resident registration copy, and an application form in person at the Pregnant Women’s Room on the 2nd floor of the Jungwon-gu Public Health Center in Sangdaewon-dong.
A representative from the Jungwon-gu Public Health Center stated, "This project is implemented to reduce the financial burden on families struggling with pregnancy and to provide various treatment opportunities for infertile couples in order to increase the birth rate."
