Dongwon F&B announced on the 30th that it has launched two types of premium Yangban Gim carefully selected by a master raw material inspector.
The two premium Yangban Gim products consist of 'Yangban Dolpan-gui Chosari Gim' and 'Yangban Sinansan Grilled Raw Gim Gopchang Dol Gim.' Yangban Dolpan-gui Chosari Gim is made from young raw seaweed harvested early during the seaweed harvesting season from November to April, characterized by a soft texture and subtle aroma. Based on 38 years of expertise in making Yangban Gim, Dongwon F&B roasted the seaweed twice?once at 100 degrees and again at 250 degrees Celsius?to enhance its crispy texture. It was then roasted once more on a crystal stone plate heated above 400 degrees Celsius to impart a rich smoky flavor.
Yangban Sinansan Grilled Raw Gim Gopchang Dol Gim is made from limited early-harvested Gopchang Dol Gim raw seaweed grown in the Shinan mudflats of Jeollanam-do, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The raw seaweed, selected for its long and curly shape resembling gopchang (intestines), is called 'Gopchang Gim.' To preserve the original taste and nutrition of the raw seaweed, it was lightly roasted without applying any additional salt or oil. It is characterized by a sweet flavor that intensifies with chewing.
A Dongwon F&B representative stated, "We plan to continuously expand our premium seasoned seaweed lineup made from differentiated raw materials such as Chosari Gim and Gopchang Dol Gim. Through 38 years of Yangban Gim expertise, we hope consumers fully enjoy premium seasoned seaweed that offers the original taste and nutrition of the raw seaweed, along with a crispy texture and rich smoky aroma."
