Walking Event, Concert, Folk Market, Food Market, and More
The Volunteer Organizations Council of Pyeonggeo-dong, Jinju-si, Gyeongnam, will hold the "2023 1st Jinju Deulmal Cherry Blossom Festival" on March 31 and April 1 at the Namgang Outdoor Stage riverside in Pyeonggeo-dong.
This Jinju Deulmal Cherry Blossom Festival is an event prepared directly by residents and organized by the Pyeonggeo-dong Volunteer Organizations Council, featuring various programs such as a walking event, concert, busking performances, experience booths, a folk market, and a food market.
On the first day, March 31, the festival will open with a ceremony at 6 PM, followed by the "Namgang Moonlight Walking Event" among the cherry blossoms. On the second day, April 1, busking performances will start at 3 PM, and from 6:40 PM, the "Namgang Moonlight Concert" will be held with the cherry blossom-filled outdoor stage as the backdrop.
As side events, various experience booths and a folk market will be set up and operated from 1 PM to 6 PM near the inline skating rink by the Pyeonggeo-dong outdoor stage during both festival days, and a food market will be open until 9 PM.
Chairman Kim Heung-su said, "We hope for active participation and promotion by local residents so that the cherry blossom festival held along the Namgang River in full bloom can be successfully held. Starting with this first festival, we will do our best to establish the Jinju Deulmal Cherry Blossom Festival as a representative local festival of Jinju."
Pyeonggeo-dong Chief Baek Sam-cheol said, "I feel very honored to hold the festival with local residents and elders during the most beautiful season of the year in Pyeonggeo-dong," and added, "Through this festival, I hope everyone fully enjoys the beautiful and vibrant spring of Pyeonggeo-dong, completely overcoming the atmosphere that was depressed due to COVID-19."
