HiteJinro Launches 100% Malt Lager Beer 'Kelly'

Simultaneous Realization of Smooth Taste and Intense Carbonation
100% Danish Malt... Double Maturation Method
First Domestic Lager Beer to Apply 'Amber Color Bottle'

HiteJinro is introducing a new all-malt premium lager beer made with 100% malt.

HiteJinro Launches 100% Malt Lager Beer 'Kelly'

On the 30th, HiteJinro announced that it will launch 'Banjeon Lager - KELLY,' which applies differentiated ingredients and brewing methods from existing lager beers, on the 4th of next month. Kelly is characterized by using only premium malt grown under the North Atlantic sea breeze in Denmark and undergoing two maturation processes. 'KELLY' is an abbreviation of 'KEEP NATURALLY,' meaning it pursues natural ingredients, brewing methods, and flavors while minimizing artificial elements.

HiteJinro completed 'The Reversal of Lager, Kelly' after three years of research and development to find soft malt and create a perfectly balanced beer body to develop a lager beer that allows consumers to experience both smoothness and intense contrasting flavors simultaneously.

HiteJinro selected Danish barley, which has a soft characteristic due to exposure to the North Atlantic sea breeze on the Jutland Peninsula throughout the year, and realized a smooth taste through 'slow germination,' which germinates the malt 24 hours longer than regular malt. Additionally, through the 'double maturation method,' which matures the beer first at 7℃ and then again at -1.5℃ to add intense carbonation, they found the perfect balance of flavor at optimal temperatures, creating a beer body where two contrasting tastes coexist.

The packaging was also differentiated from existing products. For the first time in the domestic regular beer market, an amber-colored bottle was developed and applied. The bottle shape expresses the product’s characteristics well, featuring curves on the shoulder to emphasize softness and straight lines narrowing toward the bottom to convey intensity.

Kelly will be simultaneously sold nationwide in large supermarkets, convenience stores, and other home channels, as well as in restaurants and entertainment venues starting from the first shipment on the 4th of next month. The shipment price is the same as existing beers, and the alcohol content is 4.5%.

Oh Seong-taek, Executive Director of Marketing at HiteJinro, said, “As the first domestic liquor company approaching its 100th anniversary and a leading comprehensive liquor company, we focused on the essence of beer to offer consumers an authentic beer, launching Kelly after thorough preparation and verification over three years. This new product was born with the concept of ‘The Reversal of Lager,’ breaking all prejudices about existing lagers in terms of ingredients, brewing methods, and packaging. We will actively communicate with consumers and carry out aggressive marketing to provide a new experience.”
