Proposal of 8 Key Projects to the Minister of Science and ICT

"The Aerospace Agency must be established in Sacheon, Gyeongnam, which is responsible for 70% of the domestic aerospace industry's production and houses 62% of the companies."

On the 29th, Kim Byung-gyu, Deputy Governor for Economy of Gyeongnam Province, reiterated the necessity of establishing the Aerospace Agency in Sacheon to Lee Jong-ho, Minister of Science and Technology, who visited Gyeongnam.

According to the province, Deputy Governor Kim proposed eight major issues related to the aerospace industry, including the early establishment of the Aerospace Agency in Sacheon.

Deputy Governor Kim said, "Gyeongnam Province is making great efforts to establish the Aerospace Agency in Sacheon and to develop the Sacheon area into an aerospace complex city," adding, "For this, a dedicated national-level organization is absolutely necessary to efficiently carry out various construction tasks."

He also requested simplification of procedures such as the establishment of various development plans and permits.

Deputy Governor Kim stated, "I hope the Ministry of Science and Technology will show active interest and join forces in projects that are both Gyeongnam's issues and national growth engines."

Minister Lee said, "We are working hard for the passage of the special law for the establishment of the Aerospace Agency in the National Assembly," and added, "We will consider and actively review the major issues proposed by Gyeongnam Province."
