[2023 Asset Disclosure] Governor Kim Dong-yeon 3.5 Billion KRW · Superintendent Lim Tae-hee 4.6 Billion KRW

Gyeonggi Province Governor Kim Dong-yeon and Gyeonggi Provincial Superintendent of Education Lim Tae-hee reported assets of 3,530,620,000 KRW and 4,695,160,000 KRW, respectively.

The Government Official Ethics Committee disclosed the asset declarations of 2,037 high-ranking officials on the 30th, including these details. Governor Kim reported buildings (including jeonse lease rights) worth 2,696,000,000 KRW, deposits of 1,046,000,000 KRW, and debts of 210,000,000 KRW. This is a decrease of 360,480,000 KRW compared to the 3,891,100,000 KRW declared during last September's asset disclosure.

Governor Kim explained the change in assets by stating that deposits decreased due to an increase in jeonse deposits, and his mother's assets (400,000,000 KRW) were excluded due to refusal to disclose on the grounds of supporting others.

Among the 17 metropolitan and provincial governors, he ranked sixth in wealth following Chungbuk Governor Kim Young-hwan, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon, Gangwon Governor Kim Jin-tae, and Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo.

Deputy Governor for Administration Oh Byung-kwon reported 2,032,410,000 KRW, and Deputy Governor for Economy Yeom Tae-young reported 2,275,110,000 KRW.

Gyeonggi Provincial Superintendent of Education Lim Tae-hee reported 4,695,160,000 KRW, a decrease of 49,700,000 KRW from the 4,744,870,000 KRW declared during last year's asset disclosure. Superintendent Lim explained that the change was due to fluctuations in asset values.

Superintendent Lim declared 11 properties including apartments, commercial buildings, officetels, and land (298㎡) in Bundang-gu, Seongnam City, under his own name, his spouse’s, and his mother’s. The scale of Superintendent Lim’s assets is the second largest among the 16 nationwide city and provincial superintendents of education who declared assets this time, following Daegu Superintendent of Education Kang Eun-hee.

This asset disclosure is based on declarations submitted by the subjects during the reporting period from January 1 to February 28 of this year, reflecting asset changes as of December 31, 2022.
